Colin Ferrie (1808-1856) was a Canadian merchant, banker, and politician.

Born in Glasgow, he came to Montreal in 1824 to work in his father's wholesale company. By 1829, Colin, brother Adam and his father had created 'Colin Ferrie and Company'. A founder of the Gore Bank, Ferrie was its second president from 1839 until his death in 1856.

In 1847, he became the first mayor of Hamilton. Ferrie also represented Hamilton in the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada from 1836 to 1841. He died in Hamilton in 1856 and was buried in Hamilton cemetery.

The Ferrie Suite is tucked away up a spacious flight of pine steps to the second floor of Mulberry House. With two rooms plus a full ensuite bathroom, it is an ideal retreat for the business traveller.

The richly furnished bedroom houses a queen-sized bed. A separate sitting room/study includes a couch which can pull out into a double bed along with TV, DVD player and internet access to enjoy an evening's entertainment or work out details of the next day's meeting.

Bright and airy with high ceilings, these rooms are cozy yet spacious and sleep up to four individuals. For larger groups such as wedding parties, the Ferrie Suite can be combined with the MacNab Suite, which offers kitchen facilities and double french door access to the stone patio at the rear.
